What is Collagen?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body.   It forms a scaffold to provide strength and structure, especially for our hair, skin, nails, bones, ligaments, cartilage and tendons.  Some types of collagen fibrils, gram-for-gram, are stronger than steel. One benefit of collagen is its ability to promote glowing vibrant skin by providing elasticity.  Collagen production declines with age (and exposure to factors such as smoking and UV light) and ageing skin can become loose, fine lines may appear and dryness can occur.

How can Low Level Laser Help?

Low Level Laser Therapy or Photobiomodulation Therapy can assist in increasing collagen production in our bodies, by encouraging fibres to better organise, by assisting in forming new blood vessels, by increasing catalase, (a common enzyme found in all living organisms), and by reducing oxidative and nitrosative stress in tissues and cells.

Treatment to boost your collegen production is available at the Cold Laser Pain Relief clinic in Walkerville, Adelaide.  We have been successfully applying Cold Laser Therapy since it was used effectively on our founder in 1998.
