Are you suffering from Tinnitus?

We may be able to help you…

“Tinnitus is a painless pain.  It is the sensation of chronic inflammation.”

What we know about Tinnitus.

Tinnitus, or “ringing in my ears”, is a debilitating and depressing condition that is commonly caused by noise pollution.

Our highly sensitive nerve endings are injured by machine-generated noise throughout our lives.

This results in chronic inflammation of the inner ear nerve endings.

Tinnitus may also be caused by other kinds of trauma to the head and/or neck (diagnosed for 30 years as “cervical tinnitus”).

Originally it was believed that tinnitus was untreatable and therefore incurable.   However, our extensive experience with Tinnitus leads us to believe that it may often be  associated with migraines.

We have witnessed first hand that Tinnitus is often the sensing of chronic inflammation.   Some patients have the ringing at a low level for so long, that they forget they have it.

What Tinnitus is not:

It is important to note certain types of ear problems cannot be helped by laser treatment, these include:

  • Hearing loss from a long history without ear protection;
  • Damaged ear drums from surgery;
  • Irreparable damage caused by infection; and
  • Congenital abnormalities.

What our patients tell us:

Tinnitus is individual to each patient.

Some describe it as a constant churping sound as if crickets are inside their head, while others describe it as a whooshing sound like standing in a wind tunnel.

It can be a debilitating condition that deserves compassion.

Treatment has always been difficult because little was understood about the condition.

Tinnitus is not actually a sound vibration.   It is a phantom sound, a sensation, similar to smell hypersensitivity.   And what is being sensed is chronic inflammation.   It’s not an ear problem, it is chronic inflammation within the brain.

An interesting observation from our experience is that 80% of people are right handed because of brain wiring and 80% of tinnitus patients complain that the noise they sense is coming from the left ear.

Some describe it as being all over their scalp and brain while others say they sense it away from their body.

Most people get annoyed when someone has the music up too loud.   Imagine how you would feel if there was no escape, no way to turn it down or off.

Tinnitus can drive a patient to the brink.

What can we do about it?

For more than 15 years medical practitioners in Germany and the Czech Republic have applied NASA biotechnology, called Light-Based Laser Therapy, to successfully treat the inflamed inner ear nerve endings of more than 16,000 patients suffering from tinnitus.

For those with unexplained ringing in the ears, we may be able to help at the Cold Laser Pain Relief clinic in Adelaide.

In our experience, in most cases there is nothing wrong with a patient’s ears, the source of the problem may well emanate from their neck or back.
