“I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.”

Fannie Lou Hamer – American Civil Rights Leader

Consider the term “syndrome”.

It is a word used in instances where the underlying cause of the patient’s condition remains undetermined.

Many patients who seek our assistance have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Chronic means that the condition has been around for a long time, and fatigue is another term for being or feeling tired.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome therefore means the patient has been severely tired for a long time and no-one can explain why.

It is our experience that the majority who believe they have, or have been told they have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome have, in our opinion, a long standing “enthesopathy.”  Basically this means they have had unresolved soft tissue injuries for too long.

Anyone who runs a marathon expects to feel lethargic afterwards as does anyone who has a fever.
A viral illness is petrol on the fire.  The immune system is over stimulated.  In Chronic Fatigue Syndrome viruses are often blamed but it can be unhealed injuries over-stimulating the immune system and that has impeded healing.

We believe that the symptoms related to Chronic Fatigue / Fibromyalgia are due to an inability of the lymphatic system to rid the body of inflammatory proteins which have built up over time, and this has led to chronic lymphoedema.

Lymphoedema in turn leads to a biochemical disturbance within our lymphatic system, which can contribute to allergies, joint pain, migraine, back pain, low immunity, hormonal imbalances, psychological problems and many other issues.

We use both systemic and non-systemic Low Level Laser Therapy for the treatment of Chronic Fatigue Symptoms and Fibromyalgia.

Here are several different names given to this problem:

  • Post Viral Fatigue
  • Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome
  • Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Post Infection Fatigue Syndrome
  • Chronic Epstein Barr Disease
  • Chronic Mononucleosis Syndrome
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
  • Burnt Out Syndrome
  • Atypical Poliomyelitis
  • Yuppie Flu
